show off time

As you all know the Cryengine2 is a beast. Lately I upgraded my system and build a new one for Saradu. I can tell you a decent graphics card makes a hell of a difference. I used to have 2 Ati 4850 in crossfire setting. Good performance but always a flickering of trees and distant objects in the background. Which I didn't notice anymore after a couple of weeks. Switched back to nVidea and enjoying the full beauty Entropia has to offer. FYI...the Cryengine does favor nVidea as it uses the power of the GPU archtitecture.

Long story short...Saradu and me run Entropia on high to very high settings and smooth sailing.

Saradu's system:
Intel motherboard 75 k series, unleashed
Intel Pentium i7 k,  @ 3.5 Ghz...not OCed
32 Gb RAM Kingston @ 1600 Mhz
Asus GTX 660 graphics card 2Gb factory OCed
Intel SSD 120 Gb 520 series (programs)
WD 1 Tb HD Velociraptor @ 10.5 k rpm (data storage)
Creative Xfi gamer sound card
Antec modular PSU 850 W
Antec 1200 V3 case
IIlyama 24" monitor @ 2ms response time
Logitech G19 gamer keyboard
Logitech wireless mouse
Logitech HD camera
Logitech headset HD

Roni's system:
Asus gamers P5K motherboard
Intel Q6600 running @ 3.0 Ghz OCed with Extreme Freezer non stock cooler
4 Gb RAM
Asus GTX graphics card, 2 Gb factory OCed
Maxtor 500 Gb HD @ 7200 rpm
Creative Audigy OEM soundcard
Antec 750 W PSU
some crappy case
LG 22" monitor @ 5 ms response time
Logitech G19 gamer keyboard
Logitech wireless trackball mouse
Logitech RightLight camera
Logitech headset

Cheers, Roni

Pics when I build saradu's new system:

assembled motherbord with i7 and RAM

unpacked the case and PSU

motherboard screwed in case

happy dance

inserting the PSU in the case

first parts in case

everything build in and wires routed via backpanel

maybe connecting DVD writer for optimum performance (installing windows)

Installing Windows7 UK version

system moved to Saradu's desk (still need to re arrange the cables under the desk)
